The Itinerary - subject to change
Upon your arrival in Bali and prior to your departure to Lombok, trekking to Bali's active volcano of Mount Agung (9-hour trek) with scenic views overlooking the small volcanoes in the mountan chain is a right idea to consider.
D/1: Bali Lombok
Transfer to the airport in Bali for the 20-minute flight to Lombok. Upon arrival in Lombok, transfer to Senggigi (10 km from the airport) for overnight.
D/2: Senggigi Sembalun Lawang Crater Rim II
Early in the morning, drive 130-km to Sembalun, a village in the East, 1,105 at the altitude. After a short visit to the seismograph center to learn about the volcano, its caldera and the crater lake of Segara Anak, start walking through the grasslands up to the resting point of Pemantauan (1,278 m). Ascent to Post 2 of Tengengean (1,476 m), and enjoy the expansive views of the summit. Continued to Pos 3 of Pada Balong (1,795 m) where the 3½-hour hard ascent to the Crater Rim II of Sembalun (2,596 m) starts. Night in the tent. B, L. D.
D/3: Crater Rim II Summit Crater Lake
At 03.00 am leave the camp site for the four-hour hard and extreme ascent to the summit (3,726 m). After enjoying a proud feeling of satisfaction and the great views over the crater lake, return to the crater rim II. Start to descend for a couple of hours to the crater lake of Segara Anak (2,000 m for overnight. The rest of the day is spent in relaxing, swimming in the Crater Lake, or visiting the hot springs which are said to have healing powers.
Should you decided not to ascend up to the summit, you may stay here waiting the rest of the group returning from the top, and then join to descend to the crater lake camp site. Night in the tent. B, L, D.
D/4: Crater Lake Village of Senaru Senggigi
After breakfast start for the two-hour ascent to the Crater Rim I of Senaru (2,641 m), and then descend to Senaru Village (601 m). Transfer to Senggigi for overnight. B, L.
D/5: Senggigi Gili Bidara Satonda Island
After breakfast drive Labuhan Lombok in the East of Lombok with stops at traditional village and at local day-market. Visit ne of Lombok’s main potters' village renown for old attractive design, walk through the fishermen village of Kampung Padak and get along with the daily life. In the afternoon, depart for Gili Bidara Island, a deserted coral island with white sandy beach, turquoise clear water, and an abundance of coral reefs home to colorful tropical endemic fishes. Swimming, snorkeling, and sun bathing till time to departure for Satonda Island after a bonfire fish-barbeque dinner. Full board
D/6: Satonda Island Donggo Beach Komodo
Arrive in Satonda island in the morning, a beautiful small island with a salt-water lake inside. Go ashore, then trek to the lake and on to a hill for scenic view of Satonda bay. Breakfast whilst sailing to Donggo Beach off Sumbawa Island for snorkeling. In the afternoon, leave Donggo Beach on a night-cruise to Komodo National Park. Full board
D/7: Komodo Island Labuhan Bajo of West Flores
After a night cruise, arrive in Komodo Island, the principle highlight of the program. Disembark for naturalist walk with a possibily to see the giant lizards of Komodo, colony of monkey, wild black pigs, deer, and birds. Depart for Pink Beach, an exotic white sandy beach off Komodo Island home to the rich marine biodiversity best for snorkeling. In the afternoon, leave for Labuhan of West Flores with aboard- farewell dinner. Once the dinner finished, transfer to Golo Hill Top Hotel/Puri Sari Beach for overnight.
D/8: Labuhan Bajo Ruteng
Leave Labuhan Bajo for Ruteng on a 7-hour drive in the mountain road with stops en route for pictures. Visit the Museum of Komodo, Cancar village to view the web-spider-like rice fields and Ruteng Pu’u, a traditional village of the Manggaraian. Ruteng is a small town with stunning vistas of the rice fields and the cool mountain breeze 1,000 m above the sea level at the foot of Mt. Ranaka. Overnight at Dahlia Hotel.
D/9: Ruteng Bajawa
Morning visit to Liang Bua, an ancient cahe where the Homo Florensis was newly discovered, then drive 7-hour to Bajawa on a snake-like misty road in the tropical forest with stop at Ranamese Lake, a fresh-water lake for refreshment. The Town of Bajawa is a nice town lies about 1,000 above the sea level at the foot of the active volcanoes of Mount Inerie, Mount Inelika, and Mount Ebulobo. Overnight at Silverin.
D/10: Bajawa Mount Inelika (1,600 m)
Morning drive to the start of the trek to Mount Inelika for the 2-hour soft trekking (go and fort) through the various plantations to the crater rim to view the nine lava holes of the 2001-eruption. After a short rest in hotel, drive to visit Luba, a traditional village situated at the foot of Mount Inerie where a blend of the daily animism culture mixes into the Roman Catholic belief, and to visit Soa hot-water spring for traditional massage. Trail condition is easy, with no potential hazard, except for the last one-hour tour into the crater where safety rope of 60 m is needed. This tour is not recommended except for the professional trekkers.
D/11: Bajawa Mount Inerie (2,276 m)
Morning drive (20 minutes) to the foot of Mount Inerie to start the 4-hour ascent to the summit. Have breakfast in the crater rim, just 30 minutes to the summit while enjoying a proud feeling of satisfaction. Descend and return to the hotel. The rest of the day is spent to relaxing. Trail condition is hard, recommended only to the well-trained trekkers. No potential hazard
D/12: Bajawa Moni
Leave for Moni (178 km), a village at the foot of Mount Kelimutu. En route stop at Boawe village, a local village renown for quality weaving products, Panggajawa beach, the beach of the blue stones, and at Wallogai, a traditional village of Ende, a village which lies on a hill overlooking the valleys and the rice fields. Overnight at Sao Ria Wisata.
D/13: Moni Mt. Kelimutu - Maumere
Early in the morning, drive one hour to the foot of Mount Kelimutu to commence the gentle walk up to the peak. Enjoy the sun rise and the magnificent vistas across the three-colors lakes of Kelimutu. Walk down to the entry point, and then return to Moni. After a short rest, drive to Maumere of East Flores with visit to the traditional villages of Mboli and Waeketo, the two villages with attractive hand weaving and building styles. Overnight at Purnama Hotel.
D/14: Maumere Bali / Next Destination
Transfer to the airport for flight to the next destination.
Recommended extension: Snorkeling, diving, and culture overnight-stay in Alor, a volcanic island with 43 diving and snorkeling sites.
