Trek 4 days/3 nights (East - North)
A recommended programme for the beginners and learning activity
ITINERARY: subject to change
Day 01: Point of Origin - Sembalun Village Crater Rim II Sembalun
Early in the morning, drive to Rinjani Trek Center Sembalun in the East - 3,790 feet at the altitude, (86 miles from the airport/the capital city of Lombok ). After a visit to the seismograph center to learn about the volcano, its caldera and the crater lake Segara Anak, start walking through the grasslands up to the resting point Pemantauan (4,262 feet). Ascent to Post 2 Tengengean (4,918 feet), and enjoy the expansive views of the summit. Continued to Pos 3 Pada Balong (5,980 feet) where we start for a 3½-hour hard ascent to the Crater Rim II - Sembalun (8,652 feet). Night in the tent. Lunch, dinner.
Day 02 : Crater Rim II - Summit - the Crater Lake
At 03.00 a.m. leave the camp site for the three-hour hard and extreme ascent to the summit (12,216 feet). After enjoying a proud feeling of satisfaction and the great views of the crater lake, return to the crater rim, then start to descend for a couple of hours down to the crater lake of Segara Anak (6,557 feet). The rest of the day is spent in relaxing, swimming in the Crater Lake, or visiting the hot springs which are said to have healing powers.
Should you decided not to ascend up to the summit, you may stay here waiting the rest of the group returning from the top, and join to descend to the crater lake camp site for overnight. Night in the tent, breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Day 03 : The Crater Lake - Post 3 Camp Site
Morning free on own activities till lunch time. After lunch start for the two-hour ascent to the crater rim I Senaru (8,659 feet), and then descend to the camp site 3 Senaru Mondokan Lokak - two hours (6 557 feet). Night in the tent, breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Day 04 : Post 3 Camp Site - Rinjani Trek Center Senaru
After breakfast, five-hour descent to Rinjani Trek Center Senaru (1,970 feet). Transfer to your next destination. Breakfast, lunch.

NOTE
No special mountaineering skills are needed, however, trekkers must be fit and those with asthma or heart problem are not recommended. Recommended items to bring : study walking, shoes, rain gear, hat, sun block, warm clothing, change of clothes, cotton gloves, torchlight & bottled drink water.
