KOMODO INDONESIA IS THE ONLY PLACE TO OBSERVE THE GIANT LIZARDS OF KOMODO - 3D/2N TRAVEL

Visit the World Heritage Site “ Komodo National Park ”, home to the Giant Lizards of Mosasaurus komodoensis (Soeparmi Surahya, 1989) instead of Varanus komodoensis (Ouwens, 1912). Cruise to Komodo and Rinca Island , and discover the coral gardens with their attractive  endemic shore fishes.
The area of Komodo National Park (75 000 ha) consists of Komodo Island
(33, 937 ha), Padar   Island (2,017 ha),  Rinca Island (19 625 ha), and a massive marine area surrounding with more than 1,000 shore fishes.

We may start travelling to Komodo National Park from Bali or from Lombok. After the 2-hour flight to Labuhan Bajo in the West of Flores, we start the cruise on the wooden vessel either with cabin or without cabin depending our your finance ability and the comfort you wish. After the 3-hour cruise we arrive at the tranquil bay of Rinca Island's traditional pier which is made of wood by the exciting mangroves forest with colourful endemic shores fishes.

Komodo Lizards
The Mosasaurus komodoensis (1989), instead of Varanus komodoensis was first found by Mr. P.A. Ouwens in 1912 for the sake of  western knowledge.  The biggest lizards  of the earth live only on Komodo and some neighbour islands. Komodo grow  up to 3 m long and 135 kg weight, some reach a very high age (20-25 years). They nourish themselves mainly with carrion, but also wild deer, boars, goats and horses, and can consume up to 50 kg of meat, enough to make a komodo fasting during 2 weeks. The dangerous weapon is the long tail and the teeth with malignant bacteria.

Coral garden  
Indonesia has 2,050 endemic shore fishes whereas 4.7% of them exists only in Lombok, Sumbawa, Komodo National Park , Flores, and North Sulawesi . Komodo Marine Park , one of the best coral gardens in Indonesia is also a paradise for the snorkeling and the diving lovers.

Day 01: Labuhan Bajo/West Flores - Rinca Island
Upon arrival, transfer to the pier to boarding a private boat for Rinca Island with stop at a local restaurant for lunch. After a 3-hour navigation, arrive off Rinca Island in the aftrenoon. Rinca is an island renown for attractive flora, fauna and beautiful landscape, the former ranch of the Bimanese Sultanate of East Sumbawa. Overnight on board or at the Ranger House.

Day 02: Labuhan Bajo – Rinca – Komodo
After breakfast, trek through the National Park of Komodo. Accompanied by the local Park Ranger, walk through the savannas and the steppes on which we will encounter the giant lizards of Komodo, monkeys, wild horse, deer, bird, and water buffalo. Return to the boat, and then on to Komodo Island (3 hours) with stop at Pink Beach, one of the best sea gardens in Indonesia  for snorkeling, swimming, and beach activity. After, walk along the island’s trail up to Wanugulung (1.5-hours) to learn more about the dragon and the Island’s flora and fauna. Return to Labuhan Bajo (5 hours). Upon arrival in Labuhan Bajo, transfer to Puri Sari Hotel, or to Bintang Flores Hotel (a sur charge of US $ 60 per room is applicable).  

Day 03: Labuhan Bajo – Airport/next destination
Transfer to the airport for flight to your next destination. Or continued to Flores Discovery and Roundtrip.

PRICE: The price will include all transfers, one night in Puri Sari Hotel, meal as mentionned in the itinerary, and park entry fee; exclude personal expenditure, gratuity to the crew and air fares.
