SASAK VILLAGE & HANDICRAFTS ± 8 hrs
Trip to the South, to a part renown for white sandy beaches stretching along the Indian Ocean Visits will be made en route to the pottery, weaving, and a traditional Sasak Lombok village of Rambitan, the first Islamic civilization site in the South, see the day life, handicrafts, and collect souvenirs. After having lunch, continue to Seger Hill for expansive view of the southern coast. After swimming, return to the hotel. Cost: US $ 35 each (incl. lunch)
WATERFALL (Soft Trek) ± 8 hrs
Trip to the majestic waterfalls of Sendang Gila & Tiu Kelep in the North. Walk through the tropical forest (30 minutes or 2 hours) along the crystal water river of the green valleys to learn Lombok ’s flora and fauna. Drive along the coastline with scenic views of the beaches and the coconut palm trees. Visit the local market of Tanjung and a traditional Lombok’s Moslem syncretism village, Karang Bajo, the first Islamic civilization site in Lombok when Islam arrived in the XIV th century. After a soft trek in the rice fields, return to the hotel via the monkey forest. Cost: US $ 45 each (incl. lunch)
CITY SIGHT SEEING ± 5 hrs
A half day excursion to the island’s historical sites. Visit Ampenan, the former colonial capital city of Lombok, Caakranegara, the former capital city of the Balinese Kingdom till the turn of century, Narmada, the former Summer Palace of the Balinese Hindu Kingdom which is built in the miniature of Mt. Rinjani Volcano, and Lingsar, the unique temple sacred for both the Balinese Hinduism and the Sasak Lombok Syncretism.
OR …. see Lombok on a different way ? “Cidomo Ride” . …on simple dirt path of the local Balinese villages, ride on Cidomo, a local horse-drawn cart to the river bank where the one-hour soft walk through the rice paddy fields with picturesque silhouette mountain views starts, to visit a basketry village-Nyiur Baya. Then visit Lingsar, Narmada , Bertais, and Cakranegara. Cost: US $ 30 each
COUNTRYSIDE ± 8 hrs
Drive through the Island’s lush countryside to Karang Bayan, a local Sasak Lombok village surrounded by the magnificent rice fields. On to Narmada, the former Summer Palace of the Balinese Kingdom in Lombok, which is built in the miniature of Mt. Rinjani Volcano, the 2nd volcanic peak of Indonesia, then to Tetebatu, a village renown for stunning views of the volcano’s eastern valley, rice terraces, cool mountain breeze, and numerous plantations. Short walk (50 minutes ) to the waterfall through the topical forest will be an exciting exercise. On the way home visit the only gigantic tops producing village-in Lombok "Bangkat Daya", and try to spin the tops. Cost: US $ 40 each (incl. luncheon)
VOLCANO ± 9 hrs
A round the island trip, a trip for the adventurers and the nature lovers. Drive to the North, to the majestic waterfall of Sendang Gila, visit traditional local market of Tanjung, Lombok Buddhism village Dasan Bila, and a traditional Sasak Muslem Syncretism - Segenter. Drive up to the ancient volcano crater Sembalun 3 655 feet, a region renown for onion, garlic, and potato farms, then down to Sapit via the highest country road PUSUK 3 983 feet, a nice point of view overlooking the breathtaking vistas of the green plateau, and the eastern slopes of the nature preserve. View the great rice terraces and the neighbour island of Sumbawa from Sapit Highland. The trip ended by a visit to traditional weaving “Sukarara” in Central Lombok . If the time permits, halt at Batu Bolong Templa for sunset, a Balinese Hindu Temple at Lombok ’s western cliff. Cost: US $ 60 each (incl. lunch)
